Thanks Hannah!
I’ve heard of both of them, but I haven’t been. Every time there was an event at Grand Central, I couldn’t make it. :\
I will one day though!
Thanks again! :D

On March 21st, the Red Bull Music Academy and the Winter Music Conference held an event at The Stage in the Miami Design District featuring Teebs, Lunice, and TOKiMONSTA!
It was an amazing experience to say the least. My friends and I had never been to The Stage before, so our minds were blown! The ambience was so chill! Indoors, there were couches and lounge areas that you could have your drinks at. On the opposite side of “the stage” (where the DJ booth was set up) was an open patio - with a food truck parked! The patio was a large area and there were plenty of seats outside too. So if you’re looking for a chill, yet classy place in Miami to go with your friends, The Stage is where it’s at!
When we arrived, DJ A-train was on the stage playing his set. Great stuff!

Then Teebs went on with his eclectic and soulful set. I seriously fell in love with his music at that moment.

Lunice went up next… and my friends and I lost it! His hard-hitting beats mixed with rap hooks were CRAZY. We couldn’t help but dance! AND he’s half-Filipino!

Last, but definitely not least, was the one and only TOKiMONSTA! This girl is so sick. I mean, who else opens their shows with “Let’s see how deep, and dark, and scary we can get.” ? And let me tell you, it was all that and MORE.

I am so happy that I found out about this show and that I didn’t miss out on such amazing music! Definitely looking forward to WMC next year and looking forward to who they bring out! Here are some other pics of Joanna, Steven, and I meeting them. :D

Till next time!

It has been WMC Week in Miami and my friend, Steven, and I have been attending events to pick up some tricks of the trade.
We just recently (and I mean RECENTLY) became immersed into the DJ culture and are trying to get into it ourselves. So to be caught in this music conference is, simply put, AWESOME BEYOND WORDS!
Last night, we went to an event at the Blackbird Ordinary - a very hip and cool lounge with incredible decor in Brickell - and couldn’t help but dissect each DJ’s style.
TONIGHT, we’re going to The Stage to see one of my favorite DJs perform - TOKiMONSTA! I’m so super excited, it’s RIDICULOUS!

Definitely will try and get some pictures for you all! And I’ll be writing about it soon!

Can I just gush about how much I love Michelle Williams’s outfit for the 2012 Indie Spirit Awards?
Her short tailored tuxedo by Louis Vuitton is just another example of the menswear inspired fashion for women that’s dominating the fashion scene.
I love the color. And shorts with a tuxedo?! Don’t mind if I do.
AND THAT CLUTCH. A book-clutch?! Ingenious.
Love love love this entire ensemble!

Sorry for not writing anything for a while! School work’s been piling up and whatnot, so we haven’t had many days to dress up. :\
INSTEAD, I decided to talk about something I’ve been wanting to talk about for some time… GALAXY PRINT CLOTHING! I haven’t seen them everywhere, but just enough to be infatuated with it.

Kristoffer Kane’s Galaxy Print
The print is so ethereal; feminine, yet edgy. I love that it encompasses all modes of style.
Here are some prints from Runway Bandits - an online clothing store based in Singapore.

Norse Asymmetrical Hem Galaxy Skirt

I, personally, don’t own and galaxy print pieces yet, but I’m definitely looking. Maybe a bodycon skirt? Or a mod dress? Or a bodycon dress? I CAN’T WAIT TO OWN ONE!
What do you guys think about the galaxy print?
Till next time!

Last Thursday, February 2, 2012, was the opening night for our friend Spen’s (a.k.a. Spen1) exhibit at the Kidrobot store in Miami Beach!

There were a lot of people in attendance, all of whom were taken by Spen’s art. Ranging from canvas to merch and even vinyl dolls, Spen displayed that his roots as a street artist doesn’t limit his talent. With his emphasis on creating unique characters with different personalities, there is no question as to why Kidrobot invited him for a show.

Spen currently works as a graphic designer with the label Biggest & Baddest and also works with The Bboy Spot. While he is largely known around the hip-hop community, there is no doubt his name will spread world wide! Keep an eye out for him and his art!

Outfit of the day- 01/31/12
Today I felt like sporting a professional look, since all last week I was in sweats and sneakers. I wanted to feel like a girl today, so thus this outfit was born. I also decided to show you how I would have worn those glasses from the last blog. Hope you guys get inspired and dare to wear something a little funky this week. Have a good day!
